Professor Wollank grew up in southern Germany and Spain. She studied history and literature at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, and holds the equivalent of an MA degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Professor Wollank came to the U.S. as a post-graduate Fulbright scholar to study pre-Columbian art history at the University of Texas in Austin. She also earned an MA degree in Spanish from the University of California, Irvine, where she also completed graduate work in German. Professor Wollank has been a full-time professor at LBCC since 1989, although her teaching career spans more than twenty years in the U.S. and abroad. In the past, she has conducted successful study abroad programs in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria, Madrid, Spain, and Berlin, Germany, in addition to guiding leisure tours through Spain and Portugal.
