Dr. José Ramón Núñez was born and raised in Spain.  He received his Licenciatura en lengua y literatura españolas from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and his Ph.D. in Spanish Medieval Literature from U.C.L.A.  He taught Spanish in Spain for many years before moving to the United States.  He is currently the Chair of the Foreign Languages Department at Long Beach City College, where he has been a Spanish professor since 1996.
